Platinum-selling band Scouting for Girls will headline their most intimate end of summer festival, the Tuborg Hometown Festival at O’Neill’s in association with Epiphone. O’Neill’s in partnership with Epiphone, has launched a national promotion which will see one local O’Neill’s pub host The Tuborg Hometown Festival on September 14.
In addition, O’Neill’s is running a national competition to find the best musical talent from acts and bands that already play within their pub estate to support Scouting for Girls at the festival. Live music at O’Neill’s is always guaranteed to get the crowd going, so this search will identify the best band to build the atmosphere at the festival in September.
Bands will compete before the crowds in local then regional heats, with the best acts battling it out at the national final at O’Neill’s Muswell Hill on August 20 before a decision is made on the winning band. As well as sharing a stage with Scouting for Girls, the winning band will receive three Epiphone guitars and Marshall Amps.
Following a bumper festival tour schedule, including performances at Glastonbury, V Festival, T in the Park and T4 on the Beach, Scouting For Girls will wrap up the summer with the headlining slot at the Tuborg Hometown Festival, with support coming from singer songwriter Sam Isaac and south London four piece, the Rushes.
It has already been a fantastic year for the half-million selling chart-toppers Scouting for Girls, and O’Neill’s are delighted to have them headline the festival. Vocalist Roy Stride said: “Scouting For Girls love festivals and we love pubs too, so what could be a better event for us? We're really looking forward to playing this intimate gig to a pub full of our fans."
The winning O’Neill’s pub to host Scouting for Girls, Sam Isaac, The Rushes and home grown local support bands will be announced in August. To find out more and make sure the festival is at your local, visit www.myspace.com/oneills2008 or www.oneills.co.uk.
