The classic Sunset Marquis Hotel & Villas is proud to bring “Gibson Through the Lens” for an exclusive three-week photo exhibition to celebrate the completion of the hotel’s unprecedented expansion and the grand opening of its new villas.
“Gibson Through The Lens” features some of the world’s most respected and prolific rock photographers such as Ross Halfin, Jim Marshall, Neal Preston, Mick Rock, Bob Gruen, and Baron Wolman, to name a few. This will be the first time the exhibition featuring these iconic and timeless photographs of international musicians with their Gibson or Epiphone guitar has been staged in the U.S.
“Gibson Through the Lens” will exhibit 70 rare and vintage images of international artists such as Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Les Paul, Jimmy Page, Paul McCartney, Pete Townshend, Jack White, Dave Grohl, Edge, Bono, Slash, Lenny Kravitz, Noel Gallagher, Madonna, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, B.B. King, Sheryl Crow, and more.
Rock stars, celebrities, and media elite will attend a private villa opening reception on July 30, during which this museum-worthy collection will be unveiled.
Both Gibson and Epiphone guitars are the natural stars of this exhibition, offering a rare insight into many of the world’s best loved artists enjoying private moments with their instruments backstage, on the tour bus, at home or live on-stage.
Following the London Exhibition in March 2007, “Gibson Through the Lens” traveled to Berlin in June of last year before heading over to Los Angeles to complete the journey at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and Villas.
