WHOA!! Just finished New Orleans Jazzfest and what a great time it was. We kicked major amounts of butt in front of 60,000 people at our stage with my silver Slingerlands right up front!
Ziggy Modeleste (of the world famous Meters and one of the greatest drummers in the world) played before us and stayed to watch our entire set! He's always been a big supporter of the band, with nothing but praise and kind words for us, as well as my playing. High praise indeed! We played right before the Allman Brothers and their band and crew could not have been any nicer or more complimentary.

After a great, big, fun, club show later that night, we took the next week off until this past Saturday, when we played the Miller Crawfish Boil on the river in Nashville, TN. What a great line-up this festival Had: Sisterhazel, the Bodeans, us, Papa roach, Hinder, Son Volt, Cake... it was a two-day event and although the first day got rained on pretty heavily, the day we played was gorgeous. The crowd was packed 8,000 strong against the stage when we played, and they were going nuts the whole time. I like that, to say the least.
My Slingerlands performed like champs thru all the gigs - even when I pulled a Keith Moon and sent them hurling over each other. The crew likes that the drums can handle me. God help me, if they ever learn to hit back!

The tone of these babies is something my crew comment on all of time. They have a strong, definite sound that allows for a more individual touch. Some other companies make their drums that sound fine, but they all sound the same! I love that my Slingerlands let me be me! I know I've said it before, but I am not your ordinary drummer, and I don't want to settle for an ordinary drum. I don't want to sound like anybody but Fred LeBlanc... and my Slingerlands let me do just that.
We're going to be playing on the Regis and Kelly show on, I think, Wednesday, May 23 with my Slingerlands out front, WHERE THEY BELONG!
Check us out!
Fred
