5 Les Pauls
06.27.2007- CST
I want to say thanks to you and the folks at Gibson. It's been a lifelong dream to be associated with the brand.
I just got home from the five week tour with Cowboy Mouth, and it sure feels good to be sitting in my studio with all my babies. Count 'em...five Les Pauls sitting here at home.

At least they have each other to talk to while I'm gone. I laugh when I think about the weird ways I've acquired some of these beauties. The latest one I acquired from a former tour bus driver.
The driver had just bought an old victorian home in Mississippi and needed to furnish it. Just so happened my folks had recently passed away in Memphis, and I had all this antique furniture to dispose of. Well, we struck a deal. He wound up with some killer furniture, and I wound up with a brand new Cherry Sunburst, Maple Flame-top, Les Paul Standard....not a scratch on it, absolutely gorgeous.

As folks know, the Les Paul is my weapon of choice. If i had a favorite it would have to be the '59 reissue Heritage model I play on stage (of which there were only 200 made). I've owned some weird models down through the years, but I'll leave those stories for another day and another time.
Also, remind me to tell you about the time I went to see Les Paul himself at the Iridium Club a few years ago...unreal!....Peace for now, as always,
Yours truly,
John Thomas Griffith aka "GRIFF"
